Amp Twist
I need help installing a new 4 channel amp to my inside speakers?
My vehicle recently was broken into and everything got stolen, subs and all. The only items they didn't take were my 2 6x9 and 2 4x6 kickers. As a substitute I decided to run some power through them using a new amp. I purchased a Pioneer DEH-P4900IB head unit and an Alpine MRP-F450 amp. The amp is 4 channel, 450 watts. The head unit is 4 x 50 (200 watts). First off, my old amp was 1000 watts and only powering my sub (as it was a mono). I am not sure what gauge it is, but would it be safe to run the same wire from my battery to the new amp, assuming the same fuse is still there? My other question, and the main reason I'm posting this, is because I can't figure out where to run the power from my amp. Do I simply twist the power output wire (from my amp) onto each speaker with the wire from my head unit still attached? Is there an easier, or more efficient way to do this? All 4 speakers are less than 650 watts combined but I would like to run all of the power to tem available.
