Explain reasons for the key features below of a dental laboratory/surgery?
Key features of a dental laboratory/surgery -
1) Instrument Drawer Unit
2) Amalgamator Slide And Cupboard Unit
3) Sink, Taps And Waste Bins
4) Air compressor
5) Dental chair and package
6) Handpiece care
7) Handpiece and motor
Ultrasonic scaler and tip
9) Suction system
10) X-ray and digital imaging

The only ones I know are...
1. instrument drawer unit which is self explanatory. A unit with a drawer for instruments to be stored.
3, Sink, taps, for washing hands.waste bins for swabs, tissues, bits ot ?tooth!
9, Suction system, to suck up saliva while the dentist works in the mouth.Also to extract water from the ultrasonic scaler.
4, Air compressor, they blow the drilled cavity dry before inserting filling.
5, Dental chair, for the patient - package? idk unless there are some fancy attachments you can have as well as adjustable arms, height and footrest.
2. Amalgamate To combine into a unified or integrated whole; unite. .
2. To mix or alloy (a metal) with mercury. So presumably the amalgamator is something to do with that!
7. Handpiece and motor, to control the dental drill
10, X-ray etc, dentists do take x-rays and photographs for their records.
6. Handpiece care?? To put the handpiece in?
8. Ultrasonic scalers are used to remove calculus rapidly from the tooth surface. Most of the scaling power is available at the tip, which is cooled with a jet of water.
