Thanks Billrussell42. I have more thing to ask about Nichrome resistant coil heater.?
Because I use Nichrome resistant coil heater in vacuum chamber, the temperature of coil will be 1200 C. At such a high temperature, the coil may evaporated (deteriorated). I used Nichrome coil heater in vacuum to about 900 C and it is OK. Is anybody know, upto 1200 C, Nichrome resistant coil heater can still work for a relative long life time?
electric stove elements are nichrome. But I suspect they are coated with a ceramic or glass of some sort for protection, as they are heated to a red glow and do not burn out over many years of use.
Check with a stove manufacturer to see if/what the coating is.
