Portable air condition question?
We have air conditioning in our home but don't need it most of the time. Our only problem is one room we use as an office gets overly hot in the afternoon. Would prefer not to aircondition the whole house just to get this room cool. Would like advice about portable air conditions or evaporative coolers. The room is only 150 square feet, but it does have a 6 foot sliding glass door which lets a lot of sun in.
Instead of getting another ac why don't you get some insulated drapes for the sliding glass doors and maybe install a ceiling fan. This would be much cheaper than a portable ac that you have to figure out where and how to vent it. Evaporative coolers are for climates with no humity. They will ruin your floors-furniture and walls.
