Honeywell thermostat problems?
I have an 8000 Honeywell 7-Day Programmable thermostat and it's not working right. It might be the air conditioning system itself, but maybe it's this. I don't know how to work it very well, seeing as I just got it. I press the down button to turn down for cooler air, and it goes down as long as I press the hold button with it. Except, the side of it says the inside temperature and no matter how low I turn it down, it stays at 78 degrees. Help?
The T-stat has a factory built in program. You need to sit down and read the instructions to reset that program. Or pay a 15 year old neighbor kid $5 he could probably do it without the book. There could certainly be something wrong with your unit, it may not be putting out enough BTUs to cool any lower. Make sure unit is clean, take a garden hose and with just thumb pressure clean outside units fins. Make sure ur filter is clean. If you get it clean and set at say 74 and it never gets there during the day you need to call a tech.
