Insulated Refrigeration
I'd like to place a refrigerator on our aluminum back porch....?
...It is not insulated and I live in Michigan. Will this work
My concern is for both the "keeping constant" temps in it and not harming the refrigeration system. This would be used to store a keg of beer.
Just make sure it doesn't sit in the direct sun, it will have to work overtime just to try to keep things cool, and in the winter, the best idea is to unplug it. No use in your winters to have it on. You didn't say if you were going to use year around. I have my 2 freezers in my three season porch, I don't know why they called it that, in the winter its as cold as the outside. I do leave them plugged in because the motor doesn't not have to run hard to keep things cool. Im in Minnesota. So keeping a fridge outside wont be a problem. Might want to purchase a cheap thermometer just to verify the temp inside. Don't want it to be Don't above (I keep mine at 36 degrees), you and your family could be at risk for food poisoning.
