How to ground a 220/440 open delta connected xformers to avoid over 1000 line to ground voltage.?
I have this 220/440 transformers connected in open delta. the desired sec. terminal voltage is 220 volts however when i measured the line to ground voltage it is at high 1200v. how are we going to correct this? please help. thnx
The most common way to ground an open-delta connection is to ground at the mid-point.
If you are measuring 1200v, you definitely need to do something about grounding. You may also have another problem - perhaps an intermittent ground fault, and applying an intentional ground could lead to fireworks. Proceed carefully!
