I have cleaned out the base grille part & have moved everything around so vents inside are not blocked for proper airflow. The temp. setting has always been set at the highest, and things used to freeze so quickly in the freezer; not anymore. I don't want to add anything more to the contents of the fridge until I can figure out what the problem is. This is a Kenmore top mount fridge that I bought from Sears in Oct. of 04, I would like to try every possible option to fix it myself before calling Sears. Thanks for ANY help that you can give. 
It may need to be charged with freon gas, or your compressor is blown. The compressor makes that unmistakable noise associated with refridgerators- if you don't hear it, it's probably not working.
In either case, you are best served calling a techinician, the store, or the manufacturer.
